Over 140 musical examples and a detailed bliography. Despite editors' emphasis on the "experimental" structure of literary fiction, the necessity of having a "plot" brings the writer back to the necessity of being able to construct a story with, well, most of the elements we commonly associate with stories.

Every time Gina walked down the lane where she lived, some neighbour or the other would remark that 'The Brat' was off to some place. Michener’s collection of short stories about World War II won a Pulitzer Prize. Reminiscent of Conrad’s Heart of Darkness and Patchett’s State of Wonder, this novel is entirely unique and will leave the reader unsettled, captivated, and in awe of King’s immense talent. Those three have been on my wishlist for awhile so I look forward to diving into them.
